Factory resetting any laptop is a daunting prospect, but sometimes it is the only effective option left to perform a clean reset to get rid of any lingering technical issues. How to Factory Reset an HP Laptop in Windows 10

Step 1: Open the Settings window on your Windows 10 laptop by pressing windows key + I.

2nd step: Select the Update and security option, then select Recovery.

Step 3: For a clean reset of the HP laptop where it returns to its factory setting, select Begin located below the Reset this PC section.

Step 4: The next step is to choose whether you want the files in your system to remain on the device after the reset. Select Keep my files go ahead with that particular option. You can also choose from Modify the parameters after clicking on this option not to restore the applications and settings that came with the PC.

Alternatively, you can also select the Delete everything option, which will completely return the system to its factory setting, meaning it will be more or less a fresh new HP laptop with no files, programs you downloaded, etc., left on your machine .

How to Factory Reset HP Laptop without Password

Step 1: Restart the HP laptop making sure it is completely off, then turn it back on.

2nd step: Select the F11 immediately after system startup to access Repair. Please note that you may need to use other F keys such as F9 Where F10 if F11 doesn’t work for you.
