Srinagar- Police and civil authorities on Saturday sealed off a factory in Khunmoh district of Srinagar in a bid to crack down on illegal beer brewing and processing.

The police acted on specific information received from reliable sources that a factory registered as M/S Zainab Textiles located in Phase-2 Khunmoh was involved in illegal and illegal beer manufacturing and processing activities.

A police team from Pantha Chowk Police Station under the supervision of SDPO Pantha Chowk along with officials from Excise Department, Revenue Department and Food Department raided the suspicious location.

“During the search, a large quantity of beer bottles was recovered and was therefore seized on the spot. The machine used in the manufacturing process was also seized,” police said in a statement.

In this regard, an empty case FIR No. 64/2022 under the relevant sections of the law has been filed at Pantha Chowk Police Station and an investigation has been initiated.
